8 Proven Ways To Do Digital Marketing On a Cheap Budget

Cheap Ways To Do Digital Marketing

If you are a newbie in digital marketing or completely an outsider, it would appear there is too much bragging about digital marketing. From a Fortune 500 company CEO to a room-corner startup, almost every business man on planet now consider spending an ounce or two to go digital in their marketing plan. And almost anywhere we look on the internet today, we are bombarded with different terms relating to digital marketing.

With two pieces of data as a proof, let me first assure you there is nothing like "too much bragging" in digital marketing. Digital marketing is worth all the talk and even more than that..... It's worth the doing!

Digital ad spending surpassed TV ad in 2017, according to a report on eMarketer.

There are 3.7 billion internet users in the world today.

While the first data is clear on making you understand that the trend is no where close to slowing down, the latter should successfully educate you on why digital marketing is the best way to reach all sorts of target audience.

OK. I'm now convinced you want to join suit and do digital marketing but here you are; your marketing budget can not just cover it. Perhaps, you wonder if there is anyway you can just do this on a cheap budget.  If that stroke a chord with you, then consider this article a definitive guide for you to manipulate digital marketing into catching up with your shoestring budget.

Ready? Let's take a look.

1. Generate Excitement

Let's take a cue from a local Digital satellite and Paytv operator, Telecoms Satellite Television ((TsTv), in my continent, Africa.

Several months into its eventual launching date, it generated so much excitement on social media that it was impossible to ignore it. It began by flaunting its cheap price and attractive services in front of its target audience. It offered some new initiatives which were not offered by its competitors. It offered paying once for every programme instead of paying separately for each programme, as Was The case with others. Video Calls, Pause Subscription and Record and Playback are among the many special features it came up with. These are fine initiatives.

The main theme of this entire talk is that: it is impossible not to be excited by the new benefits. By the time it eventually launched its business, customers are already waiting in droves.

This line of action only requires one thing: Creativity. That's where to seek help from creatives around you if you are not so blessed with creativity.

2. Participate in Forums and Groups

Medium, Quora, Yahoo Answers and Reddit are among many platforms you can freely join to share your expertise on anything.

Do you have deep knowledge of anything or any how-to? Then you have a way.

All you need to do is open a personal account on one of these forums - or many of them - and start gaining followers as you share knowledge and expertise. Ask and give answers on pressing questions. Answer a question under a more popular post. Before you know it, you've got a heap of overwhelming loyal followers.

As your name become more familiar to them and your tips trusted, you have loads of loyal follower you can market to without appearing promotional at all.

3. Email Marketing

If you are one of those uninformed guys who think Email marketing is dying, it's time to wake up from your slumber. You snooze, you lose. These factual and excellent researches are the solid proof that negate your refutable presumption, writ large. Email Marketing brought about about 60% conversion rates in 2016. What's more?

Email marketing is still alive and healthy. Learn to use Email marketing effectively and you are good to go.

4. Social Media marketing

That's not just another section of digital marketing. That's an integral part of digital marketing which makes it a whole. Without social media, what you will have is "marketing" not digital marketing. I hope that's clear?

With Facebook, you have a badass cheap option to make ad. What of Twitter, Linkedin, Pinterest and Instagram among others offer you various marketing bundles?

Some words of caution is this: Stay smart before you pay for that ad.  Identify your target audience on these platforms, know what attracts them and keep learning by the day. Marketing on this platforms is not as juicy as you might think. It has how it works. But it does work!

5. Facebook groups

This costs you zero dollar. There are many groups on that platform that have as much as 100,000 members and some, even more. Search for any of these groups and start sharing your expertise to gain attention. If you are not a good writer, hire one.

6. SEO

If you can learn how to do Search Engine Optimization, this is even better for you. SEO helps bring organic traffic to your site and if, by dint of doing it properly, you add value to the life of your site visitor, boom! You are in luck.

Between a reader reading your blog post and clicking buy, all that happens to make sales is digital magic. All you need to make this happen is do it right.

NB: SEO is a process and it takes time. It doesn't show results in a day but I tell you, with all sense of certainty, that it's worth the patience.

7. Guest Post

If you are a good writer, best. If you are not, still best. All you will need is get a trustworthy writer to ghost write some good stuff for you and get it to some high-impact publication out there. Imagine what happens if you can link back to your site or article on behomoth publications like Business Insider with over 100 million monthly readers.

In case you need to hire a writer, places you can visit includes Fiverr, Upwork, Freelancer etc. Dig them very well, there are tons of writers waiting there to do the work for you.
